ACT Information

Almost every college is going to require you have some sort of test scores for admission. Students are encouraged to take the SAT, the ACT, or both. The ACT is required by Glenwood for graduation and is the preferred test for students in Alabama.
It is a good idea to take the ACT during your junior year of high school, as this gives you time for multiple attempts and a chance to see your score improve during senior year. Some students choose to take the ACT early, during their freshman or sophomore years. This can be good practice, but you will likely encounter concepts you have not yet learned in school, so these attempts will not give you your best scores.
To register for the ACT, students should go to: https://my.act.org/account/signin?location=https
There are fliers in the office that give you all the information on when the test dates for the ACT are and what you will need to register.
Once you register, be sure to print out your admission ticket. You will need that, as well as a laminated form of photo ID on the day of the test.
Be sure to arrive on time! The testing center staff must lock the doors and are not permitted to admit anyone past the exact time listed on you ticket!
If you have any further questions, feel free to email me or come by the office!
