Glenwood School’s 50th Anniversary ~ The Commitment to Excellence Continues

This year Glenwood celebrates its 50th anniversary and there will be many opportunities to celebrate.  First up was the Glenwood Baseball Reunion which took place on this Saturday, January 18th.  We are also planning events to recognize all of Glenwood’s State Championship teams.  In addition, a Grand 50th Anniversary Celebration will be scheduled for August 2020.  Details about these festivities are coming soon! 

 

Great News!  There is still time to leave your mark!  The deadline to order your Commemorative Brick or Paver has been extended to January 24, 2020

4x8 Commemorative Brick Fundraiser –

Glenwood School is offering personalized commemorative bricksBricks will be laid in one of two areas, outside the Lower School entrance or outside the Upper School entrance.  Personalization includes up to 3 lines with 18 characters (including spaces and punctuation) per line. With your order you will also receive one mini replica of your brick (3 ½” x 1 ¾”) . Additional replicas may be ordered for $25 each.  Brick will all be the same color.  Your brick(s) may be personalized in any way you like to include "In Memory of", "In Honor of", or to commemorate a high school or K5 Graduation.  Bricks are available for purchase by current families, alumni, faculty, and anyone who loves Glenwood and would like to leave their mark on campus.

16x16 Personalized Paver Fundraiser– Deadline to order is 1/24/2020

Glenwood School is offering personalized 16x16 GRANITE personalized PaversPavers will be laid in one of two areas, outside the Lower School entrance or outside the Upper School entrance.  Personalization includes up to 12 lines with 28 characters (including spaces and punctuation) per line without logo or 3 lines with 28 characters  (including spaces and punctuation) per line with your company logo.  If you would like a logo included please email a digital image to fundraising@glenwoodgators.com.   Your paver may be personalized in any way you like to include "In Memory of", "In Honor of", or to commemorate a high school or K5 Graduation.

Glenwood Foundation Annual Raffle 

The Glenwood Foundation is having its annual His And Hers Raffle.  Prizes to be given away are a Canon 40 Gun Safe and a Louis Vuitton purse.  Tickets are $20 each and are on sale now.  Tickets are available in the school administration building, all home basketball games, and through any 6th – 12th Glenwood student.  The drawing will be held at the half time of the Varsity Boys game against Lee Scott on January 31, 2020.  You do not have to be present to win.

 

Spring Photos

  • Spring Pictures have been scheduled for March 18th for all students.  Order details will be given soon.  

 

Attn:  10th – 12th grade students

On March 24, 2020, Glenwood will be offering the ACT® test to Glenwood high school students grades 10th- 12th during the regular school day. Registration for this school-day test date is optional.

If you would like to register your student for the March 24th District test day, you must complete this online form with payment no later than noon on February 10thNo checks accepted. No late registrations can be accepted as the student test roster must be submitted to ACT by the deadline.

13th Annual Living Wax Museum

The Glenwood 5th grade class will present the 13th Annual Living Wax Museum on Friday, February 21st at 8:00 am in the Lower School Gym. Please join us as we see history come alive at this exciting event!

Valley Services has a new name!

Effective immediately…. Valley Services in now known as Lexington Independents.  From this point please make checks payable to Lexington Independents. Nothing has changed in regards to www.mypaymentsplus.com. Also, the new email address for the cafeteria is lmclendon@valleyinc.com.

 

 

Cheer Tryouts!

There is a sign up sheet in the front office for 2020 Junior Varsity & Varsity Cheer Tryouts. Sign ups will be available until February 3rd.

Tryouts will be February 10th, 11th, & 13th.

A mandatory parent meeting will be on February 3rd @ 6PM in the USG for anyone interested in trying out. We will discuss tryouts, practice schedule & financial obligations.  

 

Dance Team Tryouts!

There is a sign up sheet in the front office for 2020 Dance Team  Tryouts.

Tryouts will be February 10th, 11th, & 12th from 4:40-6:00.

A mandatory parent meeting will be on February 4th @ 5:30 PM.

 

4-H Club Meetings

Listed below are the remaining 4-H Club Meetings:  Meeting are from 3:30 – 4:30 in Mrs. Corbett’s room.

  • Senior Off Campus Lunch for those that donated to the Make a Difference Months has been scheduled for January 24th. Students must bring in a permission note from parents allowing them to leave campus.

Glenwood Yearbook has created an email account for all yearbook photos. Please send ANY and ALL pictures to ghs.yearbook20@gmail.com.

Any photos are of tremendous help to us. We would love to capture all of the fun events that go on throughout the school year, but unfortunately can’t be present for all of them. Help us make EVERY child at Glenwood feel noticed in this upcoming Yearbook :)

Glenwood All-Sports Passes

Glenwood All Sports Passes are now on sale! These passes allow admission to all regular season sporting events on campus. The passes are $50 for one or $75 for two and are available in the business office. Please see Jennifer Pricket to purchase.

What’s your Glenwood Story?

As we begin our year-long 50th Anniversary celebration we are wanting to know, “What’s your Glenwood story?” We would love for those associated with Glenwood (families, faculty, coaches, etc.) both past and present to share stories of the positive impact that our school has had in your life and in our community.
