My name is Kayla Boyer and I am the Upper School Guidance Counselor at Glenwood School. As a Glenwood lifer myself, I am so excited to be back home and starting my sixth year at Glenwood! On my page you will find updates on scholarships and college announcements, community service opportunities, and some tips to help you have a better school year.

1 - Discovery Day is happening November 14th with Free Apply Waiver!
We invite you to discover everything Columbus State University has to offer by attending our upcoming Discovery Day. University of Alabama Virtual Scholarship Session
High School students (9th-12th) interested in attending The University of Alabama are invited to a virtual Alumni Scholarship Assistance Program session.
Tuesday, November 10
6:00 PM
Central Standard Time
Students are invited to join representatives from Alumni Scholarships, Admissions, and the local alumni chapter to learn about available scholarships and discover ways for their scholarship application to stand out.

Southern Union- Virtual College visit
Virtual Tour: Students can take a virtual tour of Southern Union's Opelika, Wadley, and Valley campuses! With 360 degree photos and audio narration, this will help students have an inside look at being a student at Southern Union.
Virtual Information Sessions: Students can join a Southern Union Recruiter virtually to learn more about the academic programs offered, the application process, scholarship opportunities, and student life at Southern Union. With a presentation, as well as opportunities to ask questions live, virtual information sessions are a great way for students to learn more! They can click on the dates below to register, and a link to the sessions will be emailed the day prior to the event.
CSU Lunch Visit
A representative from Columbus State University will be in the lunchroom on Wednesday October 28th during the junior/senior lunch wave.
Free Application Week for Alabama Colleges!
Many colleges across Alabama are participating in Free Application week. These codes will allow you to apply for free from October 19th-23rd!

Univeristy of Alabama- Virtual College Visit
Seniors and Senior Parents,
The University of Alabama has invited us to attend a virtual college meeting since they will not be able to make a visit to Glenwood this year. Please use the link below to register. This is a great opportunity to hear more about the university and ask any questions you may have.

Southern Union- Lunch visit
A representative from Southern Union State Community College will be in the lunchroom on Wednesday September 16th during the Junior/Senior lunch wave. Students must wear a mask when speaking to the representative or getting information.
Auburn University- Virtual College Visit
Auburn University won't be able to visit our lunchroom this fall, but they have agreed to give our seniors and parents the chance to ask questions and get some more information about attending Auburn University!
Auburn is doing a virtual college visit via Zoom on Tuesday September 29th at 6:00pm.

CVCC Lunchroom Visit
A representative from CVCC will be in the lunchroom during the Junior/Senior lunch wave on September 2, 2020. Students must wear their masks while at the table speaking to the representative.
This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get information on CVCC! They have plenty of scholarship opportunities that can let you get your first two years of school completely paid for.
SAT and ACT
Seniors,
Now is the time to take the ACT or SAT. Almost all colleges are going to require you to have taken one of these tests. If you don't already have the score you want, it's extremely important to register to take one or both of these tests in the fall. ACT testing is filling up fast and if you do not register soon there will not be any spots left for September.
