My name is Kayla Boyer and I am the Upper School Guidance Counselor at Glenwood School. As a Glenwood lifer myself, I am so excited to be back home and starting my sixth year at Glenwood! On my page you will find updates on scholarships and college announcements, community service opportunities, and some tips to help you have a better school year.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY THIS SUMMER

Ladonia Baptist Church is in need of volunteers to help with VBS this summer. VBS will be the week of June 4th-10th from 5:30pm-8:00pm. They will need students to help assist teachers, recreation, and arts and crafts. If you are interested, please let me know or contact Mr. and Mrs. Hyche directly at 205-657-1614 or at [email protected]. They need at least 2-3 volunteers by the end of this week. 
VBS is a great way to serve the community and it can really help you out with community service hours! Don't miss your chance to earn some hours this summer! 

Southern Union Scholarship for Minority Students

A message from Southern Union:
 
We are excited to be able to offer $3000 scholarships for incoming students for the 2022-23 academic year.  These National Science Foundation scholarships are $1500 each semester, and are designated for underrepresented minority students who are STEM majors.  
 
If you have any underrepresented minority students who are STEM majors, and are planning on enrolling at Southern Union this Fall semester please have them contact Vickie Adkins ([email protected]) or Gary Branch ([email protected]) for information on the application process. 

EAH Scholarships

EAH is offering a NEW scholarship opportunity to high school seniors who are interested in pursuing a career as an LPN (licensed practical nurse). 

 

This is a new fully paid scholarship loan that is available to area high school seniors as well as current EAH employees and non-employees. The loan covers tuition, books and all fees when the applicants enroll at either of the area colleges that offer LPN degrees—Southern Union, CVCC in Phenix City and Trenholm State in Montgomery.

PTO Scholarship

Paper forms for the PTO Scholarship are in my office! 
Due date is April 29th by 1:00! 
Please sign the list in my office when you pick up the form to get your assigned number. Judging will be done anonymously. You will not write your name anywhere on the form.

United Way Scholarship

 
 

United Way of the CV has a new scholarship opportunity- our Emerging Leaders United Scholarship. Emerging  Leaders  United  is  looking for our future generation of Emerging Leaders! This scholarship is eligible for High School graduating Seniors and College/Trade School applicants or current students under 40. Must be a student of GA or AL.
