I'm Miss Kayla and I am the Upper School Guidance Counselor at Glenwood School. As a Glenwood lifer myself, I am so excited to be back home and starting my 8th year at Glenwood! On my page you will find updates on scholarships and college announcements, community service opportunities, and some tips to help you have a better school year.

Southern Union Path to the Plains

Important information for anyone wishing to take advantage of this program:
 
Good afternoon!  Please remind students interested in Path to the Plains Fall 2026 Program Admission that they must attend a virtual Path to the Plains Information Session before applying.  The last Path to the Plains (P2P) Information Session is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 6 pm.  Students need to register for the session to receive the Zoom link for the virtual meeting.  Parents are encouraged to attend the P2P Information Session with their student.
 
The Fall 2026 P2P Application will open on Thursday, February 5, 2026, and close on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Conservation scholarship

It's that time of year again, to offer the High School Senior students a chance to apply for this Scholarship that will
pay the winner $1000.  Students who are active in conservation, environmental and agricultural related activities
will score higher.  Our deadline to have this information is Thursday March 12,2026.  It can be emailed or brought into
this office.

Teens Who Care Scholarship

The Junior League of Columbus along with the Optimist Club of Columbus is proud to offer Chattahoochee Valley area high school seniors $1,000 scholarships to be used for tuition for their college education. Scholarship beneficiaries are competitively selected through an application process evaluated by local community judges. We are always inspired by these young servant-leaders and their sincere desire to be of service to others through volunteer activities in the community.

MAX4Kids Scholarship

We are pleased to share that the MAX4Kids Scholarship application for 2026 graduates is now available!  This year, the application process has been simplified so all required documents can easily be completed and uploaded electronically.  I am including a link for the application along with scholarship details below.

Important Dates:

  • Students who are not currently MAX members must have a savings and checking account established with MAX Credit Union by December 31, 2025, in order to be eligible.
  • Completed application packages must be submitted electronically by February 16, 2026.

Free Application Week

Parents and Students, 
This week is Free Application week in the state of Alabama! 
This means that most Alabama universities will be waiving their application fees for this week only. This is a great time to apply to any Alabama schools that you may have not submitted an application to yet. 
If you need transcripts or supporting documents, please let me know!
