Week of 4/27-5/1
This week in our weekly Zoom sessions we will be getting started on preparing our Virtual Recital. Everyone should be looking for the music that you want to perform. Follow the steps below to help prepare the recital.
Here is what I need you to do to help create the recital:
- Step 1: Choose your music. This needs to be on the short side. If you are working on a long solo and want to use it, consider only playing a small section of it.
- Step 2: Email me at [email protected] and let me know what you are wanting to do. This is really just so I can make sure what you are doing is reasonable for your level of playing (not to hard and not too easy) and to make sure we don't have too many repeated pieces.
- Step 3: PRACTICE! I also will want to hear each of you play this in your weekly Zoom before we create the video.
- Step 4: Make your video. You can make the video using your phone, computer, iPad, etc. Use whatever is easiest for you. You may want to do a couple of takes until you are happy with your results. By the way if you want to be creative with your video and do something crazy go for it. I for one would love to see some cool stuff like costumes, unique backgrounds, theatrics, or whatever else you can come up with to go with your music. .
- Step 5: Send me the video no later than May 4. I have found that it is easiest to share videos using Google Drive. Let me know if you need help with this. Once I have all the videos I will begin putting them together in one video collage.
