Hi!  My name is Joey Courson, and I am so excited to be your child's second grade teacher!  This is my fourth year at Glenwood School.  I have 35 years of teaching experience. I have taught first, second, and fourth grades.  However, second grade is my absolute favorite!  

 

My husband of 35 years is David Courson who grew up in Phenix City and is a physician assistant at Hughston Orthopedic Clinic.  We have three wonderful children; Caroline, Catherine, and Caleb.  Caroline is married and teaches students with special needs in Muscogee County.  Caroline and her husband, Trey, enjoy traveling and spending time with all of their farm animals.  Catherine is 25 years old and works as a surgical technologist at Piedmont Midtown.    My son, Caleb, attends Glenwood and is in the 10th grade.  He loves soccer, video games, KPop music, and spending time with his family.

 

My family attends Central Baptist Church in Phenix City where I serve as the Nursery Coordinator.  I love spending time worshipping the Lord and am so grateful for all of His blessings!

 

Teaching is my God-given calling!  I can't imagine doing anything else.  My love for learning and teaching young children has been such a blessing.  I look forward to partnering with you to help your child strengthen his/her academic skills and learn to love Jesus!
