Dear Glenwood Families,

I am brand new to the Glenwood Family. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to teach 6th Grade Social Studies and Study Skills and to become part of the staff, and I am ever so thankful. I am very excited about being a part of Glenwood School and I am pumped about this school year and getting to know our student body.

I attended Liberty University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education Interdisciplinary Studies (K-12). Since an early age I have always had a passion for children, but God had other plans for me. After graduating high school, I worked in construction for two years , before walking on to play college football in Pikeville Kentucky at the University of Pikeville. After deciding that God was telling me that my days of playing football were over, I had the opportunity to become a high school football coach back home. When that season was completed my passion for kids and education was once again ignited. I jumped back into college and began aggressively pursuing an education degree. Little did I know that it  would end up taking me nearly 12 years to finish my degree due to working and paying for my education. Prior to coming on staff at Glenwood, I spent a year as a paraprofessional in a self-contained elementary classroom, and then another year as a full time substitute, where I taught more than one hundred days in a very large private school in Atlanta. Last year I taught 7th, 8th & 9th grade English, 11th Grade S.A.T. Prep & 9th Grade Health at Central Christian School in Sharpsburg Ga. This is my first year serving as a Social Studies Teacher. Being in the classroom brings me so much joy and having God use me for His purpose in that capacity has really been humbling. If I can touch one child, build one child, or make the difference in one child’s life, then I know God is working through me to build His kingdom. My daily prayer is that He would use me however He chooses.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my son Briggs (2), family and friends, reading and writing and coaching football.  I love College football, (Go Seminoles!!!) and enjoy watching  games on television or in person. I am  a huge Atlanta Braves fan! I also love music, fishing, swimming and all things outdoors. I enjoy talking to other teachers to learn more about being the best educator I can be.

I am committed to encouraging students to reach their highest potential. My goal is to build strong relationships with the students and their families as we work together to encourage growth and learning. Open communication is important to me and is essential for building relationships, so please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns. I can be reached at [email protected]

In Christ,
