hey guys it's mrs. Smith I'm going to try to walk you through a lesson here on active and passive voice as if you were looking at the Smart Board in the classroom and we have done at 4 supposed to be review expresses an action done by his subject so innocent as the subject is doing something that's active and then a verb in the passive voice expresses an action remember that the subject is being like a person what are some examples of the school librarian has formed a book club the subject is librarian she did something she formed a book club that is active the passive voice a book club has been formed by the school librarian the book club is the it didn't do anything something was done to it your next example active voice a happy clown deliver the balloon what's your subject clap your verb is delivered so the subject did something so that's at in the passive example the balloons were delivered by a clown what's the subject balloons did the balloons do something know something was done to the balloons so that's a couple more practice examples many people break World Records find your subject people did the people do something yes they break World Records so that is contestants must follow the rules what's the subject contesta are they doing something yes they must follow so this is also going to change my okay so this is what record was broken by famous chef so let's find the subject to your here's the subject record did the record something was done to the record okay so record was broken by a famous chef but this is passive in class we talked about how to remember active and passive voice this is just a little trick if you can add the phrase by zombies after the verb and it makes sense example the store is overrun so if we had by zombies after a verb thesaurus overrun by zombies as it makes sense yes it does so going to be passive all right and then she runs the store he run play Zombies the store does that make sense know it's active the subject he is actually doing something all right so that's it on accident passive review and then you will have a lesson to complete
